Description

Classical and Traditional Mozart in Egypt. Great arrangements of Mozart music in Egyptian music style. This is quite an exceptional album that will please traditional music lovers as well as admirers of Mozart music.

"The concept of Mozart in Egypt is based on an original idea by Hughes de Courson and Ahmed el Maghraby. These Mozart arrangements are performed by the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra, the Radio Sofia Childrens Choir and 45 Egyptian musicians. While Western music, rich in harmony, demands that one listen to simultaneous sounds vertically, Oriental music makes its impression horizontally by never superimposing one sound over another, but rather by exquisite ornamentation of melody and rhythm. This project attempts to marry these horizontal and vertical concepts in a sort of crazy diagonal, all built upon original Mozart melodies." -- (more details about this album, tracks etc., here: )

"Mozart the Egyptian. That which composed the music of tens of publicities declares arranger of marriages considered against nature, and after having métissé Bach, Mozart transforms into Egyptian (in 1997). For this second attempt, an orchestra of more than 120 musicians, from France, from Bulgaria and Arab world is with work. With Nasredine Dalil and Ahmed-el-maghreby, Hughes de Courson reveals the side orientalizing of the author of Turkish Walk and Removal to the Seraglio. "Curiously, there was more evil with Mozart than with Bach. Bach in common had with traditional African the rate/rhythm, and the spiritual height. Between Mozart and Egypt, there were finally less common points. In addition, Mozart is the preferred music of my father. As I was in conflict a long time with him, I had avoided loving Mozart. This disc was a hell during three years. Moreover, if I prefer it, it is because I fought much to carry it out. "

In spite of fear that such companies could cause, the two discs are enthralling and splendid. The first, Lambarena, profit immediately from the enthusiasm of criticism, and are torn off with 80 000 specimens at the end of one year. A record, more especially as means of the house of disc (Celluloid Melody), which had had the notch to engage in a project in which nobody wanted to believe, are limited in term of promotion and diffusion. Mozart the Egyptian as for him will be signed at Virgin Classic, and will profit from a similar passion. The apotheosis of the disc is the Requiem, re-examined and corrected with a miraculous subtlety."
