After a slow start to say the very least, the Shagsman s latest full set for the Island Records imprint is garnering the praise it deserves. Out of all the dancehall artists working at the moment, Shaggy is easily the most successful, a fact borne out by his willingness to bring his own style of music to a wider audience and to wait patiently for them to come around to his way of doing things. Hot Shot is produced by R n B producers of note, Jam and Lewis, and is a joyful collection of dancehall misbehaviour sprinkled with just the right amount of contemporary soul to make it stand out.
