The selection doesn't concentrate on any particular styles or eras within the decade. The only thing in common is that they were all top 5 UK hits. The best soul numbers are When Will I See You Again by Three Degrees, (a lovely motowny sound from the girl group that rivalled The Supremes in the early 1970s), So You Win Again[1978] by Hot Chocolate and You're The First ... by Barry White. The best disco tracks are Sister Sledge's We Are Family, Boney M's Brown Girl In The Ring which was the flipside ofmore… their massive hit Rivers Of Babylon, Odyssey's seductive Native New Yorker, Gloria Gaynor's anthemic I Will Survive and YMCA by Village People. Timeless rockers include Rod Stewart's Maggie May (the flipside Reason To Believe was a hit too), Brass In Pocket (1979) by The Pretenders, Telegram Sam by T. Rex, Blockbuster by Sweet and my top rock favourite, Make Me Smile by Cockney Rebel, an underrated band. There are also some really beautiful pop songs like All Kinds Of Everything by Dana, a lovely ballad by TV star David Soul and teenpop in the form of The Osmonds. The tracks by Bay City Rollers, Brotherhood Of Man and Showaddywaddy have never been amongst my favourites and I don't think they've stood the test of time very well. 70's Mania is a very eclectic collection but contains enough great artists and good songs to earn four stars.BITRATE 320FORMAT MP3ALL COVERS INCLUDED
