Csaladi Tuzfeszek (Bela Tarr, 1979)AKA Family Nest......................................................................A despairing tale of a young couple trapped in a Kafkaesque labyrinth of government bureaucracy. The final scenes are quiteheart-rending. This early film by Bela Tarr lacks the meditative character of his mature work, but instead places it in an interesting perspective......................................................................ED2K downloadIMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077383/Spoken language: HungarianExternal French, Spanish subsExternal English subs (my work)For some screenshots see: http://freakyflicks.proboards54.com/index.cgi?board=6&action=display&thread=2813......................................................................Screenplay: Bela TarrCamera: Ferenc PapCast: Laszlone Horvath ... Krisztike.....................................................................SYNOPSISBela Tarr's first full length film is a bleak indictment of communist housing policy; A young couple and their daughter are forced to live with the husband's family in a tiny flat in which tempers frequently flare. The close camera work and grainy documentary style capture the claustrophobia and indignity of life at close quarters with those you don't like; the father-in-law is a malevolent Iago-esquire figure, forever whispering conspiracies to his son. The couple are desperate to leave, but, as their meetings with the government officials show, there is no prospect of escape for years to come; This is despite many usable flats standing empty, unused for bureaucratic reasons.. We learn more of the characters as the second half of the film effectively becomes a series of monologues, which further convey what a bleak place 1970's Hungary was (IMDB)......................................................................SPECSFile Name .............: Csaladi_tuzfeszek.aviFile Size (in bytes) ..: 1,566,033,920 bytesRuntime (# of frames) .: 1:39:46 (149649 frames)Video Codec ...........: XviD 1.0.3Frame Size ............: 528x400 [=1.320]FPS ...................: 25.000Video Bitrate .........: 1862 kb/sBits per Pixel ........: 0.353 bppB-VOP, N-VOP, QPel, GMC ......: [B-VOP]...[]...[]...[]Audio Codec ...........: 0x2000 (Dolby AC3) AC3Sample Rate ...........: 48000 HzAudio bitrate .........: 224 kb/s [1 channel(s)] CBR audioInterleave ............: 96 msNo. of audio streams ..: 1*****************************FREAKYFLICKS*****************************FreakyFlicks is a free and open community dedicated to preserving andsharing cinematic art in the digital era.
