"I Need a Doctor" is Dr. Dre's first "real" single from his upcoming album, Detox. If this is what the rest of the album sounds like, expect a major disappointment. First of all, it is quite disappointing that Dre did not produce this song himself. Instead it's produced by Alex Da Kid, and that's unfortunate. Everything Da Kid produces tends to sound the same, and Doctor is no different. In fact, this single sounds almost the same as Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie." This may be partly due to the fact that Skyler Grey (who happens to be the one stand out on Doctor) wrote both songs, but also for another reason. "I Need a Doctor" is almost entirely raped by Eminem. Dre only has one verse, and that verse is not a good one. Truthfully, neither are Eminem's. He seem's to have recently taken on a tendency to scream out his Raps, and at this point its just getting tiring. I wish I could say that this song is great, and Dre redeems himself after taking a 12 year break, but I just can't. Hopefully the rest of Detox is a lot better.
