"Holst's two Military Band Suites contain some magnificent music. Frederick Fennell's Telarc versions have more gravitas though no less joie de vivre than his old Mercury set. They are magnificent, and the recording is truly superb - digital technique used in a quite overwhelmingly exciting way. The Chaconne of the First Suite makes quite marvellous effect here. The playing of the Cleveland wind group is of the highest quality."
